Hitting and Fielding
Hitting
Batter Up! When you get into 14U softball, there is a lot more leeway for strikes and it gets more intense. The pitches come in a lot faster and that means you have move your hands quicker. You have to be able to pick up what kind of balls are coming at you, (balls, strikes, inside, outside, etc..) sooner. When hitting, you want to make sure your front leg is straight and your back leg is bent. Legs=Power. Pivot your back foot, too!
Fielding

In softball, there are 9 positions. Pitcher, catcher, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd baseman, shortstop, leftfielder, centerfielder, and right fielder. If the ball goes into the outfield, it's the outfielder's job to get the ball into the nearest base, or back up the infielders. The infielders have to make the outs and keep the ball under control AT ALL TIMES!! If not, the play could go wild and the other team could score a lot of runs. Like if the batter hits a single, but the shortstop throws to first, and the 1st baseman misses the ball, the batter can keep running the bases.
